PHANTOM SHARE / PRACTICAL GUIDES

Share files without an account or cloud storage

Phantom Share lets you connect devices and send files without creating a Phantom Share account. Files travel over encrypted peer connections rather than being uploaded to a cloud-storage folder for later collection.

How to send a file

  1. Open Phantom Share on both devices, or use its Android app on the phone.
  2. Choose Connect → Create on one device.
  3. On the other, choose Connect → Join and scan the QR or enter the invitation code or link.
  4. Wait for the device to be ready, check the recipients, and select or drop your files.
  5. Keep both devices online and the app or pages open. In a browser, choose Save for each received file before leaving.

A live connection, not a permanent download link

The invitation is for joining a session; it is not a file-storage link. Each invitation expires after four minutes and admits one device. The sending device and receiving device need to be available together for a live transfer. Phantom Share does not hold a cloud copy for someone to retrieve after you close everything.

What “no account” means

You do not need a Phantom Share login, email address or password to use the browser transfer page. You may set a display name so connected people can recognize your device. Obtaining the Android app through a third-party shop is a separate process and may have its own account or purchase requirements.

What “no cloud storage” means

The normal browser connection flow still uses online discovery/signaling services to help devices find and connect to one another. That is separate from storing file contents in a cloud folder. For an internet-free local session, use the Android-hosted Offline Connect flow.

Encrypted transport does not prevent a recipient from copying or sharing a file after receiving it. Only invite devices and people you intend to send to. Files default to all connected recipients unless you change the recipient settings.

Files, downloads and practical limits

You can select photos, videos and documents through your device’s file picker. Browser transfers use memory, so practical file sizes depend on the devices and browsers involved. No universal maximum speed or file size is promised. Keep the devices awake and pages visible, especially for larger transfers.

The Android app saves received files to Downloads; browsers expose a Save action. Some browsers can open an image but cannot save it. For a step-by-step phone/computer transfer, see Android ↔ PC file sharing.

Get help without sending the file itself

Support & logs provides a technical report you can export and choose to send. Logs exclude file contents and filenames. Read the privacy policy for the diagnostic fields and handling details.
